  • Candidate must be at least 16 years old
  • UTME Requirements: Candidates must score no below 160 in the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) conducted by JAMB (Joint Admissions and Matriculations Board).
  • O’Level Requirements: A minimum of five O’Level credit passes at not more than two sittings, including English Language, Mathematics, and other relevant subjects related to the chosen course of study
  • Post UTME Screening: Candidates are usually required to participate in the university’s post-UTME screening exercise and obtain a minimum acceptable score required for that course
  • Direct Entry: For direct entry candidates, they should possess at least two Advanced Level passes in the relevant subjects, or equivalent OND/HND/NCE/First Degree.

OOU ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS FOR SCIENCE

The Faculty of Science, established in January 1983, is one of the pioneering faculties at the University. Its primary objective is to produce scientific and technological professionals for the country, with a focus on Ogun State. Initially, the faculty comprised five departments: Biological Sciences, Chemical Sciences, Earth Sciences, Mathematical Sciences, and Physics. Over time, to align with global practices, the faculty underwent restructuring, leading to the expansion of departments. It now includes seven departments: Plant Science, Chemical Sciences, Earth Sciences, Zoology and Environmental Biology, Microbiology, Physics, and Mathematical Sciences.

OOU General Admission Requirements

The Minimum entry requirement for admission into Olabisi Onabanjo University is a Credit pass in five (5) subjects, including English and Mathematics, obtained at not more than two sittings. In addition, Olabisi Onabanjo University conducts Screening Exercises for all candidates seeking admission into the University. Candidates are also to note that other requirements may be specific to the faculty and/or a Program.

(a) Candidates intending to read B.Sc.degree Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics and other Science related courses must satisfy the University and Faculty requirements. The minimum academic qualification for entry is SSCE/GCE/NECO with five Credit passes in English language, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Biology/Agricultural Science, Economics/Geography.

(b) Candidates are required to score a minimum of 180 in JAMB post-UTME examination. OOU should be your first choice in other to increase your chances

(c.) A candidate who has passed Mathematics at the ‘A’ level of a recognized GCE or equivalent may be considered for exemption in all or some of the first-year departmental courses.

(d.) A candidate who passed the University’s one-year Diploma in Data Processing (DDP) course with not less than a lower credit may be admitted into the 200 level of the degree program

OOU Direct Entry Admission Requirements for Science

Intra University Transfer : Only students of the Faculties of Engineering, Sciences with a cumulative grade point aggregate (CGPA) of 1.50 and above and TNUP of not less than 10 at the end of 100 level shall be accepted and made to offer any outstanding 100 level courses required for units in Mathematical Sciences.

Inter University Transfer: Students from Science based Faculties and Colleges of other Senate recognised University with CGPA of not less than 2.00 may be considered for transfer to 200 levels. In addition, such candidates must satisfy the matriculation requirements of the University.

The Faculty of Social Sciences is one of the six faculties located at the Permanent Campus of Olabisi Onabanjo University in Ago-Iwoye. It offers a range of academic programs, including B.Sc., Postgraduate Diploma, M.Sc., and M.Phil/Ph.D. degrees in Economics, Geography, Political Science, Psychology, Sociology, and Mass Communication. The faculty has expanded over the years, adding two new programs: B.Sc. Criminology and Security Studies, and Library and Information Science.

The Faculty of Arts has existed from the very beginning of the University in 1983. It is estimated that the foundation student population of the Faculty was about one hundred.The Faculty currently has seven departments. They are:

  • Department of History and Diplomatic Studies
  • Department of Religious Studies
  • Department of Philosophy
  • Department of Linguistics and Nigerian Languages
  • Department of Foreign Languages
  • Department of Performing Arts.

The minimum entry requirement for admission into Olabisi Onabanjo University is five credit passes, including English and Mathematics, in no more than two sittings. (a) Candidates intending to read B.Sc.degree Philosophy, English, Performing Arts and other Art related courses must satisfy the University and Faculty requirements. The minimum academic qualification for entry is SSCE/GCE/NECO with five Credit passes in English language, Mathematics, Civic Education, Economics, Literature in English.Government or history

(b) Candidates are required to score a minimum of 160 in JAMB post-UTME examination. OOU should be your first choice in other to increase your chances
